Ce mémoire vise à rendre compte de la vision du théâtre parisien par Daumier, lithographe du XIXe siècle, dans un contexte politique oppressant pour la liberté d'expression. L'artiste brise le mythe du théâtre classique et cherche à en restituer les effets dans le quotidien d'une société sur la voie de l'industrialisation. Le théâtre quitte son contexte initial pour gagner la rue, les tribunaux et l'assemblée nationale.

This long essay aims at showing Daimier's view of Parisian theatre. Daumier is a nineteenth century lithographer in a political context of hostility towards freedom of speech. The artist breaks the classical theatre’s myth and tries to restore the effects on the everyday life of a society on the verge of industrialisation. Drama leave its initial context to spread to the streets, the courts et the national assembly.
