Résumé en anglais :
Discussion between two authors about their books on public libraries building. The main purpose of the exchange is to examine how librarianship concepts can be put in concrete form in planning, building and equipping libraries. Various problems are studied here : consequences of a developing open access (size of the collections, place of repositories, problems of stealing); structure of spaces for animation; advantages and disadvantages of integrated equipments (cultural centers or schools); development of the various buildings (flexibility, changes and extensions) ; the look of the library according to its interior presentation (« bookshop », « relaxation place », « study place ») or to its outside features.
