Résumé en anglais :
Through the study of the nine myths of library automation, the author can perceive the objects, the terms and conditions of automation. He points out the need for a restructuration of the services and the fact that automation induces some money saving and productivity improvement; automated libraries can also achieve a rationalization of their management. The author fights with some prevailing ideas : online catalogs, role of the consultants, MARC, turnkey systems. He finally insists on the need for librarians to undertake their automation and come to grips with the new technologies.
