When a child wants to become a reader and to read all sorts of books, he faces many difficulties. Marie-Isabelle Merlet is analysing some of them : they make the text a « stranger » to the child. Then she offers « bait-titles » and librarian's tricks, so that the young reader can gradually « tame » the writing.

L'enfant, pour devenir lecteur et pouvoir lire des livres de tous genres, se heurte à de nombreuses difficultés. Marie-Isabelle Merlet en regroupe ici quelques-unes qui ont en commun de rendre le texte « étranger » à l'enfant. Pour ne pas rebuter ces jeunes lecteurs et leur permettre de maîtriser progressivement l'écrit, elle propose des titres « amorce » et des astuces de bibliothécaire.
