Résumé en anglais :
The Hungarian National library lived through many vicissitudes and periods of shortage. In 1949, it became an independant institution and started again to develop progressively. Its most important missions are conservation, centralized services for all types of libraries, research and diffusion of knowledge. Three fields are particularly developped : international relationships, computerisation and diffusion of knowledge for all publics. In spite of many difficulties, the libraries never stopped the programmes started at an international level, preventing on that way the caracteristic loneless of Eastern Europe.
