La bibliothèque municipale de Stuttgart

- Résumé en allemand : In Deutschland tragen Städte und Gemeinden selbständig und selbstbewußt Verantwortung für ihre öffentliche Bibliothek. Gesetzliche Regelungen bestehen weder auf Bundesebene noch auf Landesebene. Es gibt jedoch Handreichungen und Gutachten, die praktikable Instrumente für Leistungsstandards bieten. Die mangelnde Verbindlichkeit von Standards öffnet aber auch Spielräume für Experimente und Innovation. Die öffentliche Bibliothek muß heute und in Zukunft mit all ihren Ressourcen zu Attraktivität, zum Glanz, zum Charme, zur intellektuellen Qualität, zur Kontemplation, zum sozialen Reichtum einer Stadt beitragen. Am Beispiel der Stadtbücherei Stuttgart wird beschrieben, wie eine öffentliche Bibliothek in ihrer Programmatik innovativ und experimentell mit den Zielen der Stadt korrespondiert.
- Résumé en anglais : In Germany, towns and communities are engaged, in an autonomous and conscientious manner, in responsibility for their local libraries. Legal regulation is non-existant, either at a federal or a national level, yet the services and connections offer all the tools for the realisation of norms. The non-obligatory character of these norms offer, however, a liberating place for experiences and innovations. Today and in the future, the public library must contribute with all its resources to the attraction, the brilliance, the charm, the intellectual quality, contemplation and the social riches of a town. The example of Stuttgart shows the fashion in which the innovative and experimental objectives of a public library correspond with those of the town.
- Résumé en espagnol : En Alemania, ciudades y comunas comprometen de manera autónoma y concienzuda la responsabilidad de su biblioteca pública. No existe reglamentación legal ni a escala federal, ni a escala nacional, sino servicios e informes que proponen herramientas para la realización de normas. El carácter no obligatorio de estas normas ofrece sin embargo un espacio de libertad para las experiencias e innovaciones. Hoy en dÌa y para el futuro, la biblioteca pública debe contribuir con todos sus recursos a la atracción, al resplandor, al encanto, a la calidad intelectual, a la contemplación y a la riqueza social de la ciudad. El ejemplo de Stuttgart muestra de que manera los objetivos innovadores y experimentales de una biblioteca pública están en correspondencia con los de la ciudad.
- Résumé : En Allemagne, villes et communes engagent de manière autonome et consciencieuse la responsabilité de leur bibliothèque publique. Il n'existe pas de réglementation légale ni à l'échelle fédérale, ni à l'échelle nationale, mais des services et des rapports proposent des outils pour la réalisation de normes. Le caractère non obligatoire de ces normes offre toutefois un espace de liberté pour les expériences et les innovations. Aujourd'hui et à l'avenir, la bibliothèque publique doit contribuer avec toutes ses ressources à l'attraction, à l'éclat, au charme, à la qualité intellectuelle, à la contemplation et à la richesse sociale d'une ville. L'exemple de Stuttgart montre de quelle façon les objectifs innovateurs et expérimentaux d'une bibliothèque publique sont en correspondance avec ceux de la ville.
