- Résumé en allemand : Die Hauptziele der rotterdamer Bibliothek sind Information, Lehre, Kultur und Freizeitgestaltung. Eine ihrer Bestrebungen ist, das öffentliche Informationszentrum schlechthin zu werden; das Internet spielt dabei eine wichtige Rolle. In den Nebengebäuden der Bibliothek werden zur Zeit Studienzentren, und in Zusammenarbeit mit allen möglichen Institutionen und Organisationen zahlreiche Tätigkeiten geschaffen. Für die kommenden Jahre ist eine Umgestaltung vorgesehen. Ein laufendes Projekt sieht die Verschönerung des Gebäudes sowie zusätzliche Nebengebäude vor.
- Résumé en anglais : This article gives an impression of the Library of Rotterdam. Information, education, culture and recreation are the main perspectives in the services of the Library. One of the ambitions of the Library is to become the public information centre; Internet plays an important role in this ambition. At this moment, Open Learning Centres have been set up in branch libraries. In co-operation with all kinds of institutions and organisations many activities are developed in the Library. The coming years, the Central Library will be redesigned; for the branch libraries a scheme has been developed, in which the outward appearance of the libraries will be improved and the number of libraries will be extended.
- Résumé en espagnol : La biblioteca de Rotterdam tiene como objetivos principales la información, la enseñanza, la cultura y las distracciones. Una de sus ambiciones es la de convertirse en el centro público de información; Internet en cuanto a esto desempeña un papel importante. En la actualidad, se están creando centros de estudio en las bibliotecas anexas. En cooperación con toda suerte de instituciones y organizaciones, se están montando numerosas actividades. En los próximos años, se prevé una rehabilitación. Un proyecto en curso prevé el mejoramiento del aspecto exterior del edificio y el aumento del número de anexos.
- Résumé : La bibliothèque de Rotterdam a pour objectifs principaux l'information, l'enseignement, la culture et les loisirs. Une de ses ambitions est de devenir le centre public d'information ; Internet y a un rôle important. À l'heure actuelle, des centres d'étude sont créés dans des bibliothèques annexes. En coopération avec toutes sortes d'institutions et d'organisations, de nombreuses activités sont mises en place. Dans les prochaines années, est prévu un réaménagement. Un projet en cours prévoit l'amélioration de l'aspect extérieur du bâtiment et l'augmentation du nombre des annexes.
