In academic and research libraries, teleworking has been little noticed since its roll-out in 2017. However, in response to the Covid-19 health crisis, it has taken hold in its entirety, profoundly changing the perception of this working modality and even generating a new craze. Using the national survey conducted during the summer of 2020 among higher education library staff and interviews, this thesis draws up an initial assessment of telework and proposes a cross-reading of the practices of staff and managers, while questioning the conditions of its implementation. In this extension, this study presents, beyond the technical aspects of telework, a detailed analysis of its implications on the functional organisation of institutions and, more broadly, a reflection on managerial practices in libraries.
