Every year since 2014, the École Nationale Supérieure des Sciences de l'Information et des Bibliothèques (Enssib) has invited two foreign researchers to contribute to the institution's international reputation.
Their one-week stay takes place in Villeurbanne at Enssib, a ‘grande école’ dedicated to public service and a university establishment affiliated to the University of Lyon. Visiting researchers give lectures and lessons, reinforcing the international dimension of research into the history of the book and information and library sciences at Enssib.
The selection process is based on a call for proposals open to all foreign researchers, from doctoral students to senior researchers.
The programme
The Visiting Researcher Programme provides funding for a stay (transport and accommodation) of approximately one week at Enssib during the calendar year following selection.
It aims to encourage the establishment of specific partnerships and strengthen cooperation by facilitating exchanges between peers on identified research projects that correspond to the strategic orientations of research at Enssib and of the various laboratories to which its researchers are affiliated, namely the Gabriel Naudé Centre and ELICO.
Visiting colleagues' stays should coincide with teaching periods.
How to apply ?
Researchers applying for the programme must provide a dossier containing the following information:
- A Curriculum Vitae with a list of publications and a short biographical note.
- A title and paragraph explaining the applicant's research project and its links with the themes of Enssib's research centres.
- The conference, seminar and/or teaching session that the applicant plans to offer as well as the language in which they will be given.
- The Enssib researcher with whom the applicant would like to work.
Proposals must be sent in the form of a single pdf document before 13 November 2023 at 16:00 to the following address: sabah.el_bakkali@enssib.fr.
The selection process
The successful applications will be selected by a committee made up of Enssib’s researchers and the head of international missions. Their choice will then be ratified by the director and the Scientific Board.
